Orders containing in stock as well as dyed to order yarns will be shipped together when all yarns are complete. If you want to have them shipped separately please consider placing two orders. Orders placed after 5pm CDT will not be processed until the next day.
NGY ships your orders in 100% recyclable mailers and boxes that are made with recycled content.
In stock items are shipped within 1-3 business days within receipt of purchase but usually go out within 24 hours unless it is a weekend. Custom orders & Dyed to Order yarns will be shipped as soon as they are complete. Dyed to order completion times are kept updated on the home page but typically take 10 - 14 business days. We make every effort to get them out sooner if possible. If there is a longer completion time due to festival season that information will be updated on the home page. Orders that include in stock as well as dyed to order will be shipped together when the dyed to order yarns are completed. If you want them to ship separately please consider making two separate purchases.
We recommend USPS First Class as the best shipping method for 13 ounces and under and priority mail for those above. All items shipped in the US are shipped with Delivery Confirmation.
The shop has a built in USPS shipping calculator and all orders are processed with live information and fees from USPS directly. Insurance will be added for valuable orders. If there has been an overcharge through the system, we will process you a refund through PayPal. Many times Priority Mail is the same cost or less expensive than Parcel Post through our commercial system, if that is the case we will ship via Priority Mail as it is faster & more reliable - there is not additional charge even if it is a bit more and if it is less then we will send you a refund for the difference.
Special Information for Canadian and International Orders
First Class typically takes 5-10 business days but may take as long as 2-4 weeks. Priority Mail is said to take 6-10 days per the USPS.
Canadian & International customers – please make sure you enter a phone number! If you do not have a phone number on your order it may slow your package down if it gets stuck in customs and they have no way to reach you.
Any additional taxes/duties/customs and other fees are the responsibility of the customer. We will not fudge the value on customs forms nor will we mark items as a gift unless it truly is one from us to you. The only time we can legally mark a package as a gift is if we are sending it to you free of charge. If you purchase it as a gift for someone else we still have to mark it as merchandise. This is the law and we will abide by it, please don't ask us to do otherwise because we cannot and will not.
Packages sent to Canada & 13 other countries including the United Kingdom and Australia now have delivery confirmation for no extra charge. After your package leaves customs you may track it through your country's postal system with the same ID sent to you at the time of mailing. Other International destinations are not trackable.
International packages are not insured by default. Your package can spend anywhere from 1 week to 4 weeks in the mail before it arrives. By choosing this method, you agree to assume all risk of loss or damage, and you agree to indemnify and hold NGY harmless from any demands, loss, liability, claims or expenses in connection to the transaction. If you would like to purchase insurance for typically a nominal charge, please let us know either before or in a note at checkout on your order and we can send you a quote.
Returns, Refunds and Cancellations
All orders may be canceled within 24 hours of placing it by contacting orders(at)nerdgirlyarns(dot)com. Dyed to Order yarns may be cancelled up until your order moves into dyeing status (you will receive an email when we start working on your order).
Yarn may be returned within 30 days of purchase. Materials must be unused and in original condition in the hank. We require the original receipt, an email confirming the return from us, and insured packages. We are not responsible for any packages lost in the mail. Contacting us with questions before placing your order helps to ensure that the item you purchase will meet your needs.
I check and double check orders before they ship but sometimes things happen. If it comes about I made a mistake in your order or there is a problem with the yarn then I will correct it. Your satisfaction with the yarn is my priority.
